Bernadette R. Lee

BERNADETTE R. LEE is a partner in the New Orleans law firm of Morris, Lee, Bayle & Willis, LLC, where she practices Family Law and Adoptions. Ms. Lee specializes in litigation, has extensive trial and appellate court experience, and has successfully argued cases in the First Circuit, Fourth Circuit and Fifth Circuit, Courts of Appeal. She has also successfully defended a Hague Action in the Federal Louisiana Eastern District Court.

She received her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Loyola University College of Law in 1993, where she was a member of the Loyola Law Review. She also received M.E. and B.S.E. degrees in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida.

Ms. Lee was a speaker for Women Shaping Law, Law Shaping Women, Juvenile Practice Panel at Tulane University and has give numerous seminars for the New Orleans Bar Association, the Pro Bono Project, National Business Institute, and the Louisiana Bar Association on family law and adoptions. She also has spoken on Recent Developments in Law at the Louisiana State University Family Law Seminar.

Ms. Lee is a member and Vice Chairman of the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization, and is Board Certified by the LSBA as a Family Law Specialist. Ms. Lee is a past Chairman of the Louisiana Family Law Advisory Committee, and a Louisiana State Bar Examiner. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Adoption & Assisted Reproduction Attorneys. She is a member of the New Orleans Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, and American Bar Association. She is a former member of the Family Mediation Council of Louisiana and the Board of Directors of the Pro Bono Project. Ms. Lee has been selected to the Louisiana Super Lawyers for 2013 and 2015-2018.

Morris, Lee & Bayle was the recipient of the Pro Bono Project’s Firm of the Year award in 2003; and the Louisiana Bar Association’s Pro Bono Publico Award in 2004.
