Edith H. Morris

EDITH H. MORRIS is a partner in the New Orleans law firm of Morris, Lee, Bayle & Willis, LLC, where she practices Family Law and Adoptions. She specializes in Adoptions, Mediation and Collaborative Divorce.

Edith received her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Loyola University College of Law where she was Comment Editor for Loyola Law Review.

Ms. Morris lectures frequently on mediation, adoption, family law and collaborative divorce. Ms. Morris has spoken on adoption law and process at the Louisiana State University Family Law Seminar, and at seminars for juvenile court clerks in Orleans, Jefferson and Baton Rouge Parishes.

Ms. Morris is Board Certified by the LSBA as a Family Law Specialist. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a Fellow of the American Academy of Adoption & Assisted Reproduction Attorneys and served on their Board of Trustees from 1999 to 2001. She served on the board for the NOLA Collaborative Divorce, and was a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.

Ms. Morris was the 2004 recipient of the Association for Women Attorneys Michelle P. Wynne Professionalism Award. Ms. Morris was the recipient of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s 2009 Angels in Adoptions award.

Ms. Morris has been selected as a member of Super Lawyers 2007-current, as one of the top 25 Women lawyers in the state by Super Lawyers for several years and one of the top 50 New Orleans Super Lawyers for 2013-2021. She has been selected a TOP Lawyer in Family Law by the New Orleans Magazine Top Lawyers since 2013.

Morris, Lee & Bayle was the recipient of the Pro Bono Project’s Firm of the Year award in 2003; and the Louisiana Bar Association’s Pro Bono Publico Award in 2004.
